EXHIBITIONIST

Friend and legend Kenny Kenny displayed 3 of his black and white photos at a recent art collaborative entitled BANZAI in Brooklyn. The exhibit was supposed to be shown for an entire month, but I found out today it was taken down so I wasn't able to see it. And I couldn't make it to the opening because I was hosting FUNERAL HOME at my apartment that night. My photo is the one on the far left. Out of the thousands of photos he has taken, I was chosen as one of the 3 displayed and I am beyond honored. He's having a complete showing of his photography in Chinatown this May. I will keep you informed.

Photographer Jeremy Kost shot me recently at the historic National Arts Club in NYC for his show "Ladies That Lunch" opening March 4th, 2010. It features a host of his favorite New York nightlife subjects in the guise of "society women", all shot in the context of the hallowed grounds and then installed in the club's gallery, "The Sculpture Court"." He takes tons of polaroids and pieces them together to form a whole picture. Fortunately, I will be at the opening of this exhibit. Pictures will follow.

MY PIG SLAVE

Meet Paul. He lives in Brooklyn and he's been harmlessly stalking me online for just over a year. We've spoke on the phone a few times. He gets off on driving people around, cleaning your apartment and being used as a human ashtray. He's said some pretty fucked up shit to me, and I admire that. Here are some rather thoughtful pictures he took for me. He's an on-going pet project, phase 2 will be meeting him... the 3rd photo he's holding out a handful of cigarette butts... hahaha, Oh Paul.

NOT FIT TO PRINT

Recently I was shot for an article for the New York Times, printed today.
It was about the resurgence of club fashion and people dressing up and going out.
I wasn't at all impressed with how they styled me even though I showed up camera ready. I was giving all black, power house, executive realness with an edge but the editor put me in an over sized blazer (at least it was McQueen) and a blue-ish/green-ish and white crinoline, totally disconnected from the entire look. But I understand they needed style credits, etc. I should have said something and done it myself, I mean, it looked awful. But I remember being shooed out of weardrobe by stressed stylists. Luckily I was shot with very handsome and talented Casey Spooner of Fischerspooner which was rad.
So the feature was online today and at the end of the night I picked up the New York Times and peeled out the Style Section on my way home from a dinner date. Obviously my photo wasn't top drawer because it didn't even make it into the printed article, which is somewhat of a relief. Maybe I'm just being a perfectionist.

SUPER QUEERO

V IS FOR VICTORY

I'm currently in V Man's Spring/Summer 2010 issue on page 63.
Illustration done of me by incredible artist and handsome guy Jared Buckhiester.
As well as V Magazine's anticipated Size Issue, used as the magazine's forward. I got both opportunities via Facebook contacts and they were completely unrelated.
Boy realness in one. Glamazon in the other. Story of my life.

REST IN PEACE

I hosted a Funeral Home themed potluck at my place over the weekend.
The idea came when I painted half of my living room pitch black.
I envisioned everyone in black, crying and having their photo taken in front of the wall. I decorated my living room with fresh flowers and lit candles.
We had an intense moment of silence for the loss of fashion designer Alexander McQueen. I had this idea a week before his unfortunate death. Here are my favorite portraits I took that night of my deathly good looking friends.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER?

Finally. I gave in.
Here's my much anticipated blog.
It's way over due. People for years have been asking me to write a blog.
But I was stubborn and hesitant.
I figured Facebook would be enough. But it's not.
It's late, Facebook isn't enough, and only gross, unattractive guys are left on Adam4Adam at this time on a Monday... erm.. Tuesday morning...
So here we go. More windows of opportunity have been opened and my blog hymen has been broken and I'll admit, it feels good.
